Yup
Fucking Twilight (I use the term affectionately I assure you)
So I got the first book from the library, half embarrassed with myself for getting it because of how stupid it all seemed on the surface.
Once I started reading it I became too interested and I knew it was because of my love for fantasy and my girl brained excitement with love. This book is absolutely a meant for the girls, no doubt about that. As I read through it I admit that some of the scenes that had to do with romance made my heart pound and it was exciting. The serious scenes just kept me turning the pages until the very end.
My conclusion, The movie is what turned me off to the series, I hate it so much and for me to get into why would be a whole other story but the book won over my girl brain, for the love of fantasy and of vampire romance it did it's job.
However, I only see this series as just a fun series to read and enjoy, and nothing beyond some enjoyable story telling. Harry potter is the same way but I admit I became more into that and I think that's the only book I ever stayed at a midnight bookstore party to get but hey, everyone has to have their book, the book they feel the most captivated by, the one they can reread over and over and never get sick of it because somewhere in their mind, it's the best escape from reality they have.
